Exploring Long Island's Underground Scene: Must-Attend Events
One of my major goals with this 'blog' is to unify Long Island as a whole. The music scene here is quite sporadic, and not many people are aware of what's happening across the entire island. As part of this effort, I plan to introduce a segment focused on informing everyone about past and upcoming events, aiming to bring the music scene closer together.
This Friday, I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd annual Secko Holiday Fest. It was an amazingly well-organized show with great performances. The vibes throughout the night were fantastic, and it was truly incredible to see the engagement of the audience with the artists, creating an enjoyable atmosphere.
Another noteworthy event on Friday was the Long Island Rap Radar Open Mic Night. Although I couldn't attend, I heard many positive things about it. Having been to Long Island Rap Radar events a few times, I would recommend them to artists looking to elevate their craft and take things to the next level.
If you have no plans on January 18th, I suggest heading down to Nostalgia Bar in Bethpage to catch performances by Yung Ness, FS-1, HKC, Swagger Dagger, and more. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door. This marks the first show organized by LBR Records, and I believe it's an event you don't want to miss. With diverse talent across the board, it promises to be a fun and dynamic show.
If I missed any other events happening this week, please let me know! I'll be sure to update this article. Check out the Instagram pages of these creators below so you can stay up-to-date on the events they are hosting!
